Rome, September 2012

One of Eric's best friends came to Italy to celebrate his wife's birthday.  We were fortunate to meet up with them in Rome for the weekend, at the start of their holiday.  This was our second visit to Rome so we were able to spend more time just strolling through the streets, window shopping, people watching, etc.  We spent Saturday in Trastavere, enjoying the view over Rome and having a a really fabulous lunch!  Definitely a great place to wander around, we really enjoyed it.  We walked from there to the Trevi Fountain and sampled some wines at a nearby wine bar.  That was followed by a birthday dinner and drinks and cigars on the rooftop bar of a nearby hotel.  Sunday was more wandering until we arrived to our favorite gelateria in Rome (Frigidarium).  I could eat there every day, love that place!
